The Holiday cottage

Le Lilas is a traditional stone Normandy house restored to comfortable modern standards with tiled and wood floors throughout. 



There are separate dining and living rooms, and a kitchen with a wood burning stove. There is a bath and shower downstairs with a washing machine and toilet, and another toilet upstairs. There are 2 double bedrooms and a bedroom with a single bed upstairs. 



Outside is a private terrace area and a lawned garden.

Location and surroundings

The cottage is situated in the village of Lithaire and faces Mont Castre which has been used as a fort dating back to Roman times, it is now a peaceful nature reserve where you can walk or, during the summer, enjoy a pedalo ride on the lake. The village shop where you can buy fresh bread and baguettes is within easy walking distance. 



The local market town of La Haye du Puits is only 5 minutes drive away where there is an excellent choice of shops and restaurants. Long sandy beaches that are perfect for walking and beachcombing are within easy reach of a 13 minute drive. Ideally situated for exploring the Manche area of Normandy from Barfleur where William the Conquerer set sail from, Bayeux and the Mont St. Michel.



The house is next to the local network of cycle paths, we have a 2 adult bikes you can use or a garage where you can store your own.
